Please READ our Terms and Conditions carefully.
We are offering this ODOT-approved Driver Ed course under special guidelines for virtual learning adopted by the ODOT Traffic Safety Division in 2020. The rules are strict, and driving schools can only offer virtual classroom learning by applying all the rules to each student in each class session. Please read the items below carefully and review them with your student. Unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not issue refunds after registration unless you make arrangements three weeks before class begins.
The online classroom setting is not for every student. If you feel your student would do better in a different teaching environment, please call us for alternate ideas on how to get the traffic safety training that your student will benefit from the most.
Student Requirements
All students must attend 30 hours of virtual classes (on Zoom).
Students must earn a final score of 80% on classwork.
If you are not visible on camera, then we cannot count you as present, and you will not receive credit for that session.
You must participate in various learning activities during each class, including answering questions via the microphone, typing responses in the chatbox, participating in polls, taking tests, and more. If you do not participate, we cannot count you as an active student in the class, and you will not receive credit for that session.
If you turn off your microphone and/or video during a test, you will not receive credit for the test. Tests are open book.
The instructor notifies parents of all absences, whether you fail to attend or fail to keep microphones and video cameras activated.
If you fall below 30 hours of classroom attendance, you will have to do additional live online work to reach the minimum ODOT requirement of 30 hours.
If you get a zero on a test, you must schedule a time to make it up with the mic and video turned on.
System Requirements
Students must attend the virtual class on a computer.
High-speed internet is best, but your connection must be stable. If your connection keeps dropping, then your student will not receive credit for attending that session.
A cell phone will not meet the requirements.
Your computer must have a working video camera and microphone, both of which must be kept turned on during each class session.
If your computer does not have a working video or microphone, please do not register for the class.
Driving Lesson Requirements
All students will participate in eight (8) 90-minute driving lessons for a total of 12 hours of driving lessons. This is twice what the normal ODOT classes offer, and we believe that the added hours help produce better-qualified young drivers.
Each driving lesson is a solo drive in a PDE vehicle equipped with a two-way video camera and an instructor brake. Parents are allowed to attend the driving lessons if they so choose.
